The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” Matthew 22:44 In some ancient battles, the conquered would be placed one by one under the feet of the victorious king. Likewise, in God’s kingdom, Jesus has defeated all His enemies at Calvary, and God is now placing every one of them under His feet, the last being death. The Bible says that we are seated with Christ—a position of rest. And as you rest with Christ, God will place every one of your enemies—every symptom, every disease—under your feet! Many of us want our symptoms and illnesses to be under our feet first, before we will rest. But God wants us to rest first, and then He will place every disease under our feet! There I will provide for you, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty… Genesis 45:10–11 In the Old Testament story of Joseph, after Joseph reveals his identity to his brothers, he tells them to return to their father, and to tell their father to come quickly to him. Joseph had prepared for his family to dwell in the land of Goshen, where they, with all their children and all they possessed, would be near to him. The name “Goshen” means “drawing near.” My friend, the Lord wants you to be in “Goshen,” which is a place of nearness to Him. His heart of love is not satisfied with just removing your sins. Romans 5:5 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Today, we express hope as if we can’t be sure what will really happen. We say, “I hope I will win that prize. I hope it won’t rain tomorrow. I hope everything works out well.” But “hope” in the Bible is a confident and positive expectation of good. God wants you to have a confident expectation of good because as His child, He favors you. Because Christ is in you, the hope of glory (Colossians1:27), you can expect the glory of God to shine into every area of your life, including your family, job, ministry, health and finances! God’s Word says, “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” You may have experienced disappointed hopes, but there is a hope that does not disappoint when you are conscious of ...

He is my stronghold, my refuge and my Savior… 2 Samuel 22:2–3, NIV When the Israelites were slaves in Egypt, they relied on the River Nile, a natural resource, for their supply of water. They depended on their own hands to carry the water from the Nile and did not have to look to God for His supply. This is a picture of human self-effort. On the other hand, in the promised land of Canaan that God had prepared for His beloved people, there was no River Nile to depend on. So they had to look up and depend solely on the Lord for the blessing of rain to fall upon their land. Beloved, even as you labor diligently in your career today, what is your trust in? Romans 8:33 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. The book of Job tells us that Satan came to God’s throne and complained about Job. (Job 1:6–12) God’s throne is the most holy place. So why did God allow Satan to come before Him? Satan could come before God because Adam had given up his place when he bowed his knee to Satan in the garden of Eden. (Genesis 3) So Satan had the right to take Adam’s place and come before God. …He made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:6 Do you sometimes wonder if God is satisfied with you? Actually, the question you should ask is not whether God is satisfied with you. The question you should ask is whether God is satisfied with Jesus and His finished work at the cross. And the answer is this: He is completely satisfied! At the cross, your acceptance is found. There, Jesus cried out with His last breath, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). The work is complete. The full punishment for all your sins was exacted on Jesus at the cross. God will never punish you the believer, not because He has gone soft on sin, but because all your sins have already been punished in the body of Jesus. God’s holiness and His justice are now on your side! Today, God is not assessing you based on what you have or have not done. He is assessing you based on what Jesus has done. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:11 We often hear about Abraham’s faith, but do you know that his wife, Sarah, had faith too? She received divine strength to conceive Isaac, even though by this time, as a woman who had never conceived, she was doubly barren! How did Sarah find faith? The Bible tells us that she “judged Him faithful who had promised.” She was conscious of the Lord’s faithfulness , not her own faithfulness! My friend, rest in the faithfulness of Jesus. It’s not your faithfulness but His faithfulness—His faithfulness in always loving you and making good on His promise to heal you and provide for you. God promised that you would be the heir of the world. It is the same promise that He made to Abraham. And because you are Christ’s, you are Abraham’s seed and an heir “according to the promise”. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life… Psalm 23:6 One day, when I was studying the Word, the Lord said to me, “Notice how goodness and mercy follow you in Psalm 23:6.” Then, He brought me to John 10:4, where it describes how the shepherd goes before the sheep and the sheep follow him. In a flash, the Lord opened my eyes to see a divine sequence: When you follow or pursue Him, the good shepherd, His goodness and mercy and all the blessings you need in life will follow after you! My friend, don’t pursue the blessings. Pursue the blesser—Jesus. As you pursue Him, you don’t have to be concerned about the blessings because they will follow after you! In fact, the Hebrew translation of Psalm 23:6 is much stronger and more aggressive. It literally says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall HUNT ME DOWN all the days of my life!” Blessings, Joseph Prince
