They are called happy in the land.

Happy are those who consider the poor; the LORD delivers them in the day of trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps them alive; they are called happy in the land. You do not give them up to the will of their enemies. The LORD sustains them on their sickbed; in their illness you heal all their infirmities. As for me, I said, “O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.” My enemies wonder in malice when I will die, and my name perish And when they come to see me, they utter empty words, while their hearts gather mischief; when they go out, they tell it abroad. Psalm 41:1-6 My enemy has not triumphed over me By this I know that you are pleased with me; because my enemy has not triumphed over me. But you have upheld me because of my integrity, and set me in your presence forever. Psalm 41:11-12 Even my bosom friend They think that a deadly thing has fastened on me, that I will not rise again from where I lie. Even my bosom friend in whom I trusted, who ate of my br

But let each examine his own work

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of genteelness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself But let each examine his own work and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone and not in another. Galatians 6: 1-4 God is not mocked, Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the spirit will of the spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:6-8 We will reap in due season And let us not grow weary of doing well for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do well to all especially those who of the household of faith.

Do you look at things according to the outward appearance?

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, And being ready to punish all disobedience is fulfilled. Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ’s, let him again consider this in him, that just as he is Christ’s even so we are Christ’s. For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed. 2 Cor 2: 3-8 Comparing themselves among themselves are not wise. Lest I seem to terrify you by letters. “For his letters,” they say, “are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible. Let such a person consider this

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discourage in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, does not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; Hebrews 12: 1-5 For what son is there whom a father does not chasten? For whom the LORD loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is th

The LORD answered me and set me in a broad place.

O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever! Let Israel say, “His steadfast love endures forever.” Let the house of Aaron say, “His steadfast love endures forever.” Let those who fear the LORD say, “His steadfast love endures forever.” Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me in a broad place. With the LORD on my side I do not fear. What can mortals do to me? The LORD is on my side to help me; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to put confidence in mortals. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. Psalm 118: 1-9 In the name of the LORD I cut them off! All nations surrounded me; in the name of the LORD I cut them off! They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side; in the name of the LORD I cut them off! They surrounded me like bees; they blazed like a fire of thorns; in the name of the LORD I cut them off! I was pushed hard, so tha

Do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ in partiality

My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ in partiality. For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, And you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place and say to the poor man “you stand there”, “or “sit here at my footstool” Have you not shown partiality among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom? Which he promised to those who love Him? James 2:1-5 But you have dishonoured the poor man But you have dishonoured the poor man Do no the rich oppress and drag you into the courts? Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called If you really fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, “You shall love your neighbour as yourself,” you do well; But if you show partiality, you com

I will call them my people who were not my people and her beloved who was not beloved.

Does not the potter have power over the clay? From the same lump to make one vessel for honour and one vessel for dishonour? What if God wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known endured with much long suffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction. And that he might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy which he had prepared beforehand for glory. Even as whom he called; not of the Jews only but also of the Gentiles? As he says also in Hosea, I will call them my people who were not my people and her beloved who was not beloved. And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, “you are not my people,” there they shall be called sons of God. Romans 9; 21-27 We would have become like Sodom and we would have been made like Gommorrah Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel, Children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved For he will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, for the Lord shall make

He makes lightning flash in the rain and sends the winds from His store room

He is the one who made everything The Lord made the earth by His power; By His wisdom He created the world And stretched out the heavens At His command, the waters above the sky roar; He brings cloud from the ends of the earth He makes lightning flash in the rain and sends the winds from His store room At the sight of this, people feel stupid and senseless Those who make idols are disillusioned, because the gods they make are false and lifeless They are worthless and should be despised They will be destroyed when the Lord comes to deal with them The God of Jacob is not like them. He is the one who made everything And He has chosen Israel to be His own very people. The Lord Almighty is His name. Jeremiah 10 12-16 I will make you well again But now, all who devour you will be devoured And all your enemies will be taken away as prisoners All who oppress you will be oppressed And all who plunder you will be plundered I will make you well again I will heal your wounds Though your enemies sa

Your youth is renewed like the eagle’s

Bless the Lord Oh my soul; and all that is within me bless His holy name Bless the Lord Oh my soul and forget not his benefits Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving-kindness? And tender mercies Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep his anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities Psalm 103: 1-10 Great are his mercy towards those who fear Him For as the heavens are high above the earth So great are his mercy towards those who fear Him As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. May He send you help from the sanctuary

May the lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you May He send you help from the sanctuary and strengthen you out of Zion. Psalm 20: 1-1-2 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, May He remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions Psalm 20;3-5 Some trusts in chariots and some in horses Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trusts in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God They have bowed down the fallen; but we have risen and stand upright. Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call. Psalm 20: 6-8 With the blessings of goodness For You meet him with the blessings of goodness,

Let each of you look out not only for his own interest

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the spirit., if any affection or mercy, Fulfill my joy by being likeminded , having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem others better than him self. Let each of you look out not only for his own interest, but also for the interest of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Phil 2: 1-5 But made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant Who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal to God. But made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death on the cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and given Him the name which is above every name Phil 2: 6-9 Eve

He is known as her refuge.

Great is the Lord. And greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, the joy, of the whole earth is mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge. For behold, the kings assembled, they pass by together They saw it and so marveled; they were troubled, they hastened away. Fear took hold of them there, and pains as of a woman in birth pangs Psalm 48: 1-6 God will establish it forever As when You break the ship of Tarshish with an east wind As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God, God will establish it forever. Psalm 48:7-8 Your right hand is full of righteousness We have thought O God on your lovingkindness in the midst of your temple According to your name O God So is your praise to the ends of the world Your right hand is full of righteousness Psalm 48: 9-10 Walk about Zion Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of

You will never again deprive them of their children.

And I will multiply the number of people upon you, even the whole house of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. 11 I will increase the number of men and animals upon you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD. Ezekiel 36: 10-11 You will be their inheritance I will cause people, my people Israel, to walk upon you. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance; you will never again deprive them of their children. Ezekiel 36: 12 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because people say to you, "You devour men and deprive your nation of its children," Therefore you will no longer devour men or make your nation childless, declares the Sovereign LORD. Ezekiel 36:13-14 No longer will I make you hear the taunts of the nations No longer will you suffer the scorn of the

Our tongue with shouts of joy;

When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. Psalm 126:1-2 Restore our fortunes, O LORD Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like the watercourses in the Negeb. May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves. Psalm 126:3-5 If the Lord had not been on our side If the Lord had not been on our side, Let all Israel admit it If the Lord had not been on our side, We would have been swallowed alive by our enemies Destroyed by their anger, we would have been drowned beneath the flood of these men’s fury and pride. Psalm 124:1-5 The snare is broken and we are free Blessed be Jehovah who has not let them devour us We have escaped with our lives as a
