He is known as her refuge

Great is the Lord. And greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain.
Beautiful in elevation, the joy, of the whole earth is mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge.
For behold, the kings assembled, they pass by together
They saw it and so marveled; they were troubled, they hastened away.
Fear took hold of them there, and pains as of a woman in birth pangs

God will establish it forever

As when You break the ship of Tarshish with an east wind
As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God, God will establish it forever.
Psalm 48:7-8


Your right hand is full of righteousness

We have thought O God on your lovingkindness in the midst of your temple
According to your name O God So is your praise to the ends of the world

Walk about Zion

Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad because of your judgments
Walk about Zion and go all round her count her towers.

Consider her palaces
Mark well her bulwarks; consider her palaces that you may tell it to the generations following.
Psalm 48:13

He will be our guide

For this is God, our God forever and ever He will be our guide , even to death.

Depend On God’s Unmerited Favor, Not Favoritism

Meditate On And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. Acts 7:9–10 There is a significant difference between God’s unmerited favor and favoritism . God’s unmerited favor is based entirely on Jesus’ merit, and we received it through His finished work at the cross. We did nothing to deserve His favor. It is completely unmerited. Favoritism, however, stinks of self-effort. Individuals who rely on favoritism for promotion resort to apple-polishing, office politics, manipulative tactics, backstabbing and all kinds of compromises just to get what they want. God has a higher and better way for you. It hurts Him to see His precious children groveling like sycophants just to get ahead in life. If a door closes, so be it! Believe with full confidence
