Putting aside every weight

“Therefore, we also since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us put aside every weight and the sin, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”

The author and finisher of our faith

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider him who endured such hostility, from sinners against Himself lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. Hebrews 12:2-3


Strengthen the feeble hands

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down and the feeble knees,
And make straight paths for your feet so that what is lame may not be dislocated but rather be healed.
Pursue peace with all people and holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:12-13



The life of a Christian in the contemporary world is not an easy one. Though in many places there is freedom of worship and the lives of Christians are not under threat for worshipping their maker, Christians today find themselves being persecuted in many ways for failing to follow the crowd or swim against the currents.
As Christians our measuring rod is Christ and only him. We should refrain from setting standards with our human leaders who are mere mortals.
Though we should give them all the respect and support they need, it is important that we make Jesus Christ our source of pride and hope while waiting patiently for his second return and coming.
Let us also share the word of God with the people that God will bring in our way on daily basis.
They will be our jewels when we get to Heaven.
