Jesus pays well. He is wonderful to work for, and most generous (John 4,35). He isn’t looking for the cheapest workers. He can afford the best in practical terms. If churches want cheap pastors, if they presume upon the willing sacrifice of their pastors, God isn’t a partner to it. In such churches meanness makes for leanness. The laborer is worthy of His hire. “Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor.” (1 Timothy 5:17). How marvelous that there is such a calling ! We come to bless the lives of people, and they become to us friends, often with closeness of love and of family. God bless you too. REINHARD BONNKE
